According to SARVAK AZAR’s public relations department, this project aims to improve the quality of diagnostic services and accelerate the treatment process in the hospital’s oncology department located in Tehran.
As one of the country’s specialized cancer treatment centers, the oncology laboratory department of Shariati Hospital requires advanced, up-to-date equipment. By providing financial support and offering technical cooperation with the hospital management team, SARVAK AZAR has equipped some facilities in the department with modern, specialized equipment, playing a significant role in more accurate disease diagnosis and faster patient treatment.
During a visit to Shariati Hospital, Hamidreza Tavassoli, SARVAK AZAR’s CEO, and Firouz Doyran, SARVAK AZAR’s deputy of finance and administrative affairs, became familiar with the hospital’s activities. They met with Ghasem Jan Babaei, head of the medical oncology ward at Shariati Hospital, and closely examined the progress of the laboratory department’s construction.
Tavassoli stated that SARVAK AZAR believes social responsibility is more than a commitment; it is part of the company’s identity. Supporting community health and improving medical services is a responsibility the company pursues with all its capabilities, and SARVAK AZAR is proud to contribute to such important projects.
Jan Babaei called the cooperation an important and valuable step in improving medical infrastructure. He emphasized that equipping the oncology laboratory department would directly impact the quality of cancer patient care and accelerate timely diagnosis and treatment. He noted that the first bone marrow transplant in the Middle East was performed at this hospital in 1990 and that the first leukemia course after the 1979 Revolution was held at this complex. He added that the center welcomes patients from all over the country.
Jan Babaei also highlighted the promotion of activities, the expansion of scientific, research, and educational outputs, the development of various departments, and the recruitment of specialized personnel, contributing to the gradual formation of these departments since 2012. He recalled that in 1975 the department was only a four-bed ward shared with other services. These developments were achieved thanks to the efforts of prominent professors such as Dr. Ardeshir Ghavamzadeh, the father of bone marrow transplantation and the founder of Iran’s subspecialty field of blood and cancer.
Expressing gratitude for SARVAK AZAR’s material support, he said such cooperation exemplifies the board of directors’ profound and progressive vision regarding social responsibility. He expressed the hope that other companies and organizations will emulate these activities and view health as part of their social responsibilities through collaboration in health’s strategic and important field.
He noted that the present project is being implemented with SARVAK AZAR’s help and that its completion will significantly contribute to better laboratory facilities and reduced response times. Praising SARVAK AZAR’s initiative, he expressed a desire for these activities to continue in the future and presented SARVAK AZAR with a plaque of appreciation on behalf of the medical oncology department of Shariati Hospital.
